DDB, three weeks after filling its top creative role on McDonald's in the U.S., has found a new chief creative officer for its Chicago office.
John Maxham, who most recently was an executive creative director and managing partner at Cole & Weber United in Seattle, fills a vacancy left by the August exit of Ewan Paterson. Paterson led the creative department for more than three years.
Maxham, who spent four years at Cole & Weber, will partner with Chicago CEO Paul Gunning. He starts his new job next month.
Top accounts at DDB Chicago include McDonald's, State Farm, Mars, Capital One credit cards and Safeway. Maxham's brand experience ranges from Microsoft Office and the International Olympic Committee to UPS, Heineken, Boost Mobile and AT&T.
Maxham is already familiar with DDB Chicago, having worked there as group cd before Cole & Weber. He also has worked at agencies in the Los Angeles area (Team One) and New York (Lowe).
